Beef Tallow vs Lamb Tallow: Which Is Better for Skin?
Share
What is Tallow?
Tallow is rendered animal fat, usually from cows or sheep, that's been processed to remove impurities. While it's commonly used in cooking, it also has a variety of other applications. Tallow is great for skincare, acting as a natural moisturiser, and is often found in soaps, candles, and even some traditional medicines. Its versatility and long shelf life make it a valuable product in many industries.

Benefits of Beef and Lamb?
Both lamb and beef tallow are rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, making them great for moisturising and nourishing the skin. They also help with skin repair and provide a natural protective barrier.
Lamb Tallow: Lighter, absorbs quickly, and is ideal for sensitive skin. It's gentler and has more omega-3 fatty acids, making it suitable for soothing irritation and promoting skin elasticity.
Beef Tallow: Thicker, greasier, and works well for very dry skin. It has a stronger scent and is better for deep moisture and protecting the skin's barrier.

Why we use Lamb Tallow?
Lamb tallow in our opinion is our favourite of the two. There are mixed feelings about which is better but I would definitely recommend tallow as a whole instead of any other alternative skincare (especially ‘fake’ chemical based skincare). Whether you have tried Beef tallow or Lamb Tallow I’m sure you get great results from each and I would always recommend spreading the word of the amazing wonders of tallow skincare.
